Ananguku Arts and Culture Aboriginal Corporation (KU Arts) is the regional development body operated by the artists of the Anangu Pitjantjatjara Yankunytjatjara (APY) Lands in northern South Australia.
 KU Arts is an innovative, membership focused organisation with a strong record in servicing the APY arts sector’s needs, delivering development projects and providing representation and advocacy for artists. Its members are the 400+ Anangu artists of the region, the majority of whom are affiliated with the region’s seven art centres.
 We seek an enthusiastic and energetic leader with a strategic and visionary approach that will support the organisation’s continued growth and success. Responsibilities include: the management of financial, human and physical resources; implementation of the strategic business plan; funding acquisition; representing members’ interests at community, state and national levels; and maintaining effective stakeholder relationships.
 Based in Adelaide the General Manager will lead a small staff team and report to an Executive Committee.
 Candidates should have: knowledge of the arts sector (and preferably of Indigenous arts); highly developed interpersonal skills with the ability to develop relationships of trust in a cross-cultural context; significant experience at EO/senior management level; and a successful track record in organisational development.
 Salary range $75 - $85K plus vehicle.

Position Description.

The Services Coordinator provides the Media Resource Centre’s reception and administrative support services. The Services Coordinator is also the first point of call for the MRC’s members and customers, providing introductory information on membership benefits and all the MRC’s production and exhibition program, and taking all event pre-bookings.

It is essential that applicants can communicate effectively with all staff and clients, have strong attention to detail, and enthusiasm for the screen development sector. They must also have experience in a similar customer services or front of office secretarial position and be proficient using Word and Excel. Experience in MYOB, basic account keeping are highly desirable.

education on ecstasy and related drugs

National Drug and Alcohol Research Centre partnership with Australian Red Cross save-a-mate
The National Drug and Alcohol Research Centre (NDARC) has secured funding to investigate how effective peer-led interventions are in providing education on ecstasy and related drugs (ERD) to users.  Peer Education will focus on the specific risk of mixing ecstasy with other pharmaceuticals that stimulate serotonin production.  This research will take place over the Australian summer of 2006/07 in four sites – Sydney , Adelaide , Canberra and Amsterdam , the Netherlands .
As part of this project, NDARC has partnered with the Australian Red Cross save-a-mate Program, the KIS Project run by Manly Drug Education and Counselling Centre (MDECC) and Unity run by Jellinek in Amsterdam .
We are looking for 20 highly motivated and reliable volunteers to be = trained as peer educators for this project.  For your efforts you will receive the following:
·         6 Hours of specialised training in ecstasy and related drugs
·         Experience in data collection and interviewing techniques
·         A work experience reference
·         Free attendance to at least 2 big festival/dance parties
o        Summer Enchanted (Dec 9th)
o        New Years Eve at Colley Tce Glenelg (Dec 31st)
o        Australia Day (Jan 26th)
o        Big Day Out (Feb 2nd)
·         A project t-shirt and other mechandising
·         Opportunity to hang out with like-minded peers
To be eligible to participate in this research project you must be able to attend a compulsory drug information training session to be held at Red Cross House, 207-217 Wakefield Street Adelaide on Wednesday 6th and Thursday 7th December from 5.30 – 8pm.  Nibbles will be provided.
