Genetically Modified crops talk tomorrow

Julie Newman, National Spokesperson for the Network of Concerned Farmers is making a special visit to South Australia to speak on:Genetically Modified crops - The Possible End of the Moratorium & the Implications for Australian Farming & Trade
Julie Newman, together with her husband, farms 10,000 hectares in WA, and owns one of the largest seed-grading factories in the State. Formerly Senior Vice President of the WA Farmers Grains Council, she has held senior positions in agripolitics.
Julie is the National Spokesperson for the Network of Concerned Farmers and manages the website www.non-gm-farmers.com
She will explain that IF we allow GM crops to be introduced, both farmers and consumers will lose their freedom to choose. She will talk about the economics of GM crops, the impact on non-GM growers, the drive behind GM crops, and why GM crops will be the biggest threat to food and agriculture that we have EVER faced.

On Monday September 24, Recitals Australia presents the brilliant duo pianists, Igor Machlak and Olga Kharitonova from Melbourne, at Pilgrim Church, Flinders Street.

Adelaide audiences will have a chance to experience the fine musicianship of Machlak and Kharitonova in a selection of works by Saint-Saëns, Ravel, Arensky and Stravinsky. 

Machlak explains “All of the works require a thoroughly virtuosic approach which is in our view not only indicated by technical prowess, but mainly and most importantly, projected by sheer artistic freedom and imagination.”
