Young and Restless w/ Cut Off Your Hands (NZ)

Young and Restless are Karina Utomo (vox), Nugie Utomo (drums), Ash Pegram (guitar), Mark Falkland (guitar) and Ross Paxman (bass).

Forming in Canberra in early 2005, Young and Restless were thrust into the spotlight late last year when they won Triple J’s Unearthed competition, which saw them perform at Homebake in Sydney . Six months on and Young and Restless have been recording their self-titled debut album. Set for release mid-July, the album is completely self funded and was recorded at Tom Larkin’s (Shihad) studio in Brunswick earlier this year. Despite several tracks having been played on radio (I Pointed At You and You Burst Into Flames, Satan, Dirty Kicks) the album will be the first official release for Young and Restless.

In support of the new single, Young and Restless will be touring their explosive live shows around Australia with support from New Zealand ’s Cut Off Your Hands.

Innocence - Elder Conservatorium Evening Concert Series 9 jun

6.30pm Saturday 9 June 2007
St Peters Cathedral, King William Road, North Adelaide

One of Adelaide’s most historic buildings - St Peter’s Cathedral - will resound with some of the most beautiful choral music ever composed, during the second concert in the Elder Conservatorium Evening Concert Series this month.
The concert features the Elder Conservatorium Chorale, with soloists and current students Louise McKay (cello), Robert Macfarlane (tenor) and Thomas Flint (baritone), together with recent graduates Anthony Hunt (organ), who is also the assistant organist at the Cathedral, and Greta Bradman (soprano).
The major work being presented is the Australian première of Innocence by John Tavener, which was written in 1994 in memory of the victims of World War II, and “positively surrounds the audience with everything from voices and organ to bells - the exceptionally high and low vocal in this work has to be heard to be believed”, Mr Crossin said.
Tickets are $25 adult/$20 conc/$14 student, available from BASS or dial’n’charge 131246.
There is still time to subscribe to save!
Please see attached for more information or contact: Helen Simpson, Manager, Evening Concert Series, Elder Conservatorium of Music, University of Adelaide SA 5005.
